There are monthly online meetings, to stay up to date on matters like nature conservation work, the association’s internal matters and international meetings.
France, Hyeres – International Ranger Congress 2024
The attendance of the international ranger association IUCN and further activists like the COP 16 highlighted the congress‘ importance. There was an excursion to the first European marine national park Port Cros. It was established in 1960 and is a hotspot for divers all across Europe.
Albania, Tirana – European Ranger Congress 2022
The main aim of this congress was to connect European rangers, set up collaborations and foster existing ones. Over 100 rangers from 24 countries all over Europe took part. There was a field trip to the national park Shebenik and Divjake. Furthermore new monitoring methods were discussed and Birgit and Natalia presented Austrian junior ranger projects.
Nepal – International Ranger Congress 2019
The congress was held in Chitwan, 900 km2 national park in the south of Nepal. 550 people from 71 countries and 5 continents attended the opening ceremony, which presented a host of different lectures, presentations and workshops. At this event Gabriela (NP Donauauen), Natalia (NP Donauauen), Manuela (NP Thayatal) and Birgit (NP Thayatal) founded the Austrian Ranger Association, to better represent Austrian rangers on an international stage.
